Weekly Challenge #304: "New Official Tangle Waybop"

OK folks I saw Waybop in the Zentangle newsletter and really thought it was cool and easy too, providing you followed the steps in order.  My first couple outings were not what I'd call wildly successful.  A secret desire was that Waybop would appear as a challenge from the Diva, and do wishes ever come true - Yahoo.  I'm am sorta out of Zentangle regular supplies so I've been tangling on rocks of late with Sharpies.  Use what ya got kiddo.

Well, I created a rather interesting version of Waybop and it just screamed "Auraknot me" to me, so I did and it turned out to be an Auraknot that went through the boundaries of Waybop to the outside, which I think is like totally cool, ya know.  The Tipple was just for some added interest.  This guy is about 8 inches high.  I decided to use elemental colors (get it), silver, bronze and gold - hey, I live in Arizona OK!  I'da used copper but I don't think Sharpie makes that color.

Hope you like it.

  5. Dudz, you did alright, man. Your improvisation is great!! What is astounding to me is that you got your art to come out so smooth on that rock. Rocks are generally rough to draw on. You are the master at rocks. Tangle on, dude.

  7. I absolutely love your Way Bop Stone. The tangles you used and the colors are so perfect. I think that's a great idea. I'm going to have to do some beach combing here on the Northern California coast and come up with some nice ocean washed smooth stones.

  10. I live in AZ too and find that, since we have lots of rocks, they find themselves a surface for my tangles as well! Yours is really nice with the added Auraknot!

    1. Hey thanks Jean. It's true, if you can't find a rock to paint in Arizona, you're not looking. I've just always loved river rocks even way before Zentangle. I collect ones that speak to me and I glue little ones into cairns which I give away and have sold at craft fairs as personal way finders. I generally carry one in my pants pocket for a worry stone. Yup, rocks are good.
